Were you granted your first student visa on or after the 5th November 2011?

For the Graduate Work Stream of the Subclass 485 visa, you need a nominated occupation closely related to  your qualification.

To be considered to be closely related, the skills underpinning the qualification must be directly transferable to that occupation. This applies to both the subject matter and the level of the qualification. For example, if you nominate 'physiotherapist' as your occupation, a degree in physiotherapy would meet this requirement, but a degree in commerce would not. You will also need to know what the ANZSCO code is for your occupation.

The simplest way to do this is to google "ANZSCO" and your occupation. For instance if you are a plumber, then google "ANZSCO plumber" - you will find a six digit number which is your ANZSCO code  - a plumber is ANZSCO 334111.

What is your ANZSCO and occupation?

To be eligible for the Graduate Work Stream of the 485 visa, your nominated occupation needs to be on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).

Is your occupation on the MLTSSL ?
